New QENDO endometriosis app launched

Wednesday 1st July, 2020

It’s a condition that impacts the lives of one in nine women. It can cause severe pain and be incredibly disruptive to the lives of those who have it. It’s invisible to others and has a history of misdiagnosis.

Endometriosis is a condition that causes uterine lining to lodge and grow in other parts of the body. With each menstrual cycle it bleeds, gets inflamed and can lead to scarring, cysts and adhesions.

While it is not curable, endometriosis is able to be treated with drug therapy, surgery and alternative treatments.

QENDO - Endometriosis Association Qld

QENDO is a not-for-profit organisation that supports those affected by endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS or infertility, across Australia.

In addition to their workshops, retreats, 24-hour support line and active social media support, QENDO wanted to develop an app to help those with endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, infertility and pelvic pain manage their symptoms.

In collaboration with the QENDO community, Elearn Australia and The Ageing Revolution have developed the QENDO App.

The QENDO App

Mobile app for women and trans people with endometriosis

The QENDO App enables endometriosis sufferers (and those who care for them) to actively track, journal and share their journey, using a range of health indicators and variables.

The app empowers those with endometriosis to manage their own care, communicate with others around them and share their experiences within their care network.

The co-design approach - Developed by the community, for the community

Integral to the success of the app is its co-design approach. Input from the endometriosis community and health professionals was actively sought and used to develop the app.

“You have helped us make our app be the biggest co-design project, having engaged with hundreds of you from across the community, as well as hundreds of health professionals too. This is not just a period tracker, we have worked together as a community to create a functional, practical and inclusive app for those affected by endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS or infertility.”
